SIEB & MEYER exhibits complete power range of SD4x family at the SPS trade show 2026

SD4S Series as Successor to SD2S Series — Now Complete
At SPS 2026 in Nuremberg, SIEB & MEYER will present the complete SD4S series. The SD4S devices will be complemented by the SD4B and SD4M series. This means that every device from the previous SD2S family now has a counterpart in the new device generation, based on revised technology. As a special highlight, SIEB & MEYER will exhibit a customized SD4M with an output power of 350 kW.
"Our SD4S series is completely available in the intended performance range by now," said Markus Finselberger, head of sales drive technology at SIEB & MEYER. "In other words, we are able to supply the successor for each device from the SD2S series whereas the new device is more economic, more compact and more efficient – this means the user can only benefit." The SD4x generation was developed especially for high-speed motors. Compared to conventional solutions, the devices significantly reduce losses in the motor and with frequencies up to 6,000 Hz enable speeds that were hardly feasible until now.
The available SD4S devices – complemented by an SD4M – completely replace the predecessor series SD2S regarding the output power. In addition, there is still room for customized designs. Typical application fields for the device series include wafer dicing machines or machine tools, particularly grinding machines – i.e. applications with high-speed motors that place high demands on the drive electronics. Another area of application is the screwdriving technology that SIEB & MEYER has been supplying for many years and for which the device series has been specifically optimized.
SD4x family covers wide power range
Devices of series SD4S are available with output powers between 0.8 and 32 kW. Below this power range, the SD4B series complements the portfolio: Two frequency converter models are designed for applications between 0.3 and 1.0 kW. These devices are typically used in dental milling machines and in the micro-cutting industry. In the high-performance range, the SD4M series joins the device family: SD4M devices feature multilevel technology and are used, for example, in turbo blowers or turbo compressors. At present, drive controllers of this series are available in the power class 62 kW. SIEB & MEYER plans to expand the portfolio with several devices in power classes up to 500 kW.
At SPS 2026, SIEB & MEYER will present the complete SD4S power range from 0.8 to 32 kW. SD4B and SD4M complement the presentation and show that the three series cover the entire range between 0.3 and 490 kW. As an example for the upper power range, SIEB & MEYER presents a customized SD4M with 350 kW.
