In the field of turbomachines, the system's efficiency can be continuously improved by increasing the system speed or omitting the gear. Hence, it is necessary to use appropriate high-speed motors instead of the slowly rotating standard motors.

Standard frequency converters are not capable of driving high-speed motors adequately as they do not provide the necessary high rotating field frequency on their own, but only with expensive additional equipment like sine-wave filters.

Frequency converters by SIEB & MEYER are especially developed for the operation of high-speed motors. They provide the necessary rotating field frequencies and ensure a low motor heating by means of special control technologies without additional sine-wave filters. The motor heating has a significant impact on the system's efficiency and the service life of motors and bearings.
