AI-driven investment boom in PCB production

SIEB & MEYER AG based in Lueneburg (Germany) looks back on an exceptionally successful business year 2025. The technological leader for control and drive electronics more than doubled its annual sales from 55.7 to 122 million euros compared to the previous year. In absolute terms, this result marks a new record in company history.

Global investments in the AI infrastructure were the main growth drivers. The resulting demand for highly complex PCBs led to a significant increase of investments in PCB drilling machines. In this sector, the machines were equipped with CNC controls by SIEB & MEYER on a large scale.

"At the moment, we observe a structural shift in the demand: AI applications noticeably increase the demand and requirements for PCBs and that puts the production under pressure," explained Torsten Blankenburg, CTO at SIEB & MEYER AG. “Manufacturers who don't set up the necessary technologies and capacities promptly will lose time. And time is a key factor in this market.”

The enormous sales growth was only possible thanks to the performance of the employees and with a significant increase in the number of personnel. In 2025, SIEB & MEYER expanded its workforce by more than 30 % to 360 employees. At the same time, the company demonstrated its strength in terms of innovation, training, and personnel development and was awarded the innovation and training prize by the Arbeitgeberverband- Stiftung (employers' association foundation) Lüneburg-Nordostniedersachsen e.V.

"This award means a lot to us because it shows appreciation for our work and the entire SIEB & MEYER team," emphasized Torsten Blankenburg. “It motivates us to provide an exceptional training and future-oriented technologies also in the coming years.”

With the business year 2025, SIEB & MEYER AG is well-positioned in a market that changes permanently due to AI investments. The record sales is less of a snapshot than an indicator for a long-term trend in PCB production. In addition, the drive controller sector with its continuous moderate growth is an important pillar for the future corporate development.
