Servo Amplifier SD3 With New Option Module

Press releases

For applications in the tightening, pressing and lifting technology

The two transducer interfaces of the option module that SIEB & MEYER has recently launched for the servo amplifier SD3 allow a direct evaluation of active and passive torque transducers. They make expensive external evaluation electronics unnecessary and significantly reduce the component production and wiring effort.

"Servo amplifiers are often used for manufacturing processes where the know-how is focused on the motion profile and the evaluation of process values," explained Torsten Blankenburg, CTO at SIEB & MEYER AG. "This is why this option module is closing a gap." The direct integration of the interfaces into the servo amplifier and application program also improves the quality in evaluation, because it is carried out according to the internal clock without additional latency periods. This way, hardware costs are reduced and the application programming is limited to one system. Thanks to the new HIPERFACE DSL® motor feedback interface, the motor connection can be established via single-cable technology, which also reduces costs and makes the handling of the predominantly hand-held systems easier.

With the servo amplifier SD3, SIEB & MEYER provides a solution for complex drive tasks such as servo-driven tightening, pressing or lifting. It is deployed for example in the servo hoist systems of a US supplier that in production environments help workers lift heavy loads. The servo amplifier SD3 by SIEB & MEYER enables the lifting units to meet the high requirements with regard to precision, speed and last but not least to security. On top of that, it is already prepared for Industry 4.0 compliance. Its open system architecture allows manufacturers to further develop the servo amplifier into a customized all-in-one solution: The open source character gives extraordinary freedom with regard to tailored functions. The Linux based environment offers potential that cannot be real
