24.01.2012
From March 15 to 18, 2012 New Energy Husum opens its doors for the tenth time. This year's motto is: Look ahead – think ahead! SIEB & MEYER also seized this motto: The specialist for drive and control electronics rebuilt the feed-in converter aeocon for small wind turbines allowing the device to be used with other renewable energy technologies. Thus, the yield of various systems generating energy is significantly increased.
A Spanish manufacturer of small wind turbines, for example, employs aeocon with his products. Practical testing over a period of half a year showed that the energy yield increased by up to 30 percent.
Input Frequency of 500 Hertz
By the end of December the provider announced that the feed-in converters designed for operation with higher-speed generators are now available with an input frequency of 500 Hertz; prior to that the maximum value was 100 Hertz. For two-pole generators this results in speeds of up to 30,000 rpm. By means of this performance feature aeocon becomes attractive for other renewable energy technologies, such as small cogeneration units (CHP) or hydroelectric power plants and particularly for ORC systems.
aeocon is conceived as all-in-one solution. Considering mounting space, installation and initial operation time, it presents an advantageous alternative to application fields with higher-speed generators that until now were realized by multi-component systems. Efficient control technology in application-oriented devices allows for more energy yield as well and promotes a rapid amortization of investment.
On the basis of aeocon but also the drive amplifier series SD2S SIEB & MEYER developed device platforms that can be adapted optimally to customer and technology-specific requirements.
"Especially because the New Energy trade fair in Husum broaches all fields of renewable energy, it is the ideal location to present our products", Ralph Sawallisch, key account manager at SIEB & MEYER, points out. Visitors are welcome to request more information at the anniversary fair in hall 1, booth B26.
